Equinox Research was a research and development company sourced in Rohandile. Founded in 1934 by Professor Kentrik Watsen with its main facility located on the outskirts of Sangle City, Equinox specialized in chemical and nuclear research, usually sponsored by the Rohandile government.
Equinox Research Incorporated was established on June 15th, 1934 when Kentrik Watsen and a team of friends from the Sangle University of Science and Technology (S.U.S.T.) decided to start a research facility in Sangle City after graduating. One of the founding team was Martin Polara, who invented the cyclotron at S.U.S.T. in 1931; he was able to patent the machine in October of 1934 under Equinox Research. The team would continue to build up the corporation, experimenting on the atom and making discoveries.
With the discovery of Element 43, Technetium, by Martinez Rodrigues at the University of Venica in 1937 using the cyclotron, Equinox decided to invest more into synthetic element research. In 1942 Equinox would be successful, with their discovery of Element 94, Plutonium. This discovery would not be made public however, until a year after the end of the Great World War due to security concerns by the government. The more famous discovery would be Element 96, Curium, in 1943, where Equinox would bombard plutonium with alpha-particles in the cyclotron.
