Wherechester Steel & Oil functions using a trust-based system, where individual factories and refineries function mostly autonomously, exporting their finished products of a certain quota out to company werehouses where they will then be sold. Each factory, or sector of factories has a president, who conducts the facilities and their management. Certain sectors are further up controlled by subsidiaries which manage production and distribution, with a cut going to Wherechester.
Certain other subsidiares conduct iron mining and oil extraction operations for Wherechester, so that the company doesn't have to rely as much on imports of natural resources.
Founded in 1887 by William Wherechester, Wherechester Steel & Oil began as a medium sized factory in Smithston, Rohandile. One of four other sons, William founded the company to inherit the wealth of George Wherechester - his father - and his iron mining company. Granting each son a plentiful startup, each would attept to prove themselves to be worthy of the will. William created a steel refinment factory, later expanding to oil refinement. Four years later, on George Wherechester's death, William would be successful in inheriting his father's mining company. With the newfound wealth, Wherechester would expand the company further into Toiesa.
In the years leading up to and during the Great World War, Wherechester Steel & Oil would experience its most successful years, with the Rohandile Military Branch being its most frequent buyer. This is what allowed the company to finally become national, nearly forming a monopoly on Rohandile steel and petroleum by the end of the war.
In 1964, William Wherechester would finally hand off the company to his 25 year old son, James W. Wherechester - going by his middle name as "Sir Wisenburg" - who vowed to expand the company worldwide.
