Tenexse

Overview

Tenexse is a kingdom situated in Central Enequit. Founded in 492 by Joseph I, or Joseph the Great, Tenexse has existed for 1535 years. As of 2027, Tenexse exists as a constitutional monarchy, although the country is largely governed solely by the Parliament of Xenese. The nation is composed of lush forests and savannah, with the Ichilles Mountains in the north. Tenexse has a population of 35.45 Million people across 17 "Aloxsa" that cut up the nation. Being a landlocked country, Tenexse has never had a large trade economy; however, they still have somewhat industrialized on par with its neighbors Prevesia and Clara.

History

Exact details of the founding of Tenexse are unknown, however it is largely agreed upon that the kingdom was created west of the Leglaria Sea after the Xenese people were forced out of Majenua. After the Xylen Massacre in 488 expelled many non-Majen peoples that Oiila de Lopit believed to be a threat to the Kingdom, Joseph the Great led surviving Xenese to small city of Daiilao, which would become the new capital. Under the new lineage under Joseph I, the Kingdom of Tenexse would quickly expand within Central Enequit.

The Xenese kings, beginning with Joseph II around 500 DME, would create a system of nobility to defend the land and collect taxes from the peasantry. Joseph II selected 70 of his most trusted advisors to start the nobleman line, and they would be called "Kentins".

War of Aquitan Succession (1233-1278)

After Ramond VI took control over the Glarian city-states in 1217, finally gaining access to the Leglaria Sea, the standing king of Aquita, Gerald IV, approached Tenexse with an alliance proposal. He would marry the daughter of Prince Austin (the second son of Gerald IV), Franchesca I, to Ramond VII of Tenexse. In a few decades time, their son would lead an empire spanning half of Enequit, and would quickly mean the defeat of Nautenia; which Aquita had been struggling with during Gerald IV's reign. Ramond VI, of course, agreed, since the alliance would allieviate the issue of Aquitan blockades in the Strait of Utresch after they had acquired access to the sea.

Shortly after becoming Duke Austin from Gerald V's ascension to the throne in 1221, Austin would die of food poisoning at 35. Five years later, Gerald V would die in a jousting accident, leaving the throne to Franchesca I. As the first Queen of Aquita, Franchesca's reign was widely unpopular. The Aquitan nobility often refused to listen to the monarch, turning to Ramond VII when federal input was necessary. Numerous peasant revolts occured across the northern Aquitan provinces, and Franchesa I refused to mobilize troops against them, forcing the nobility to deal with the problems on their own, further adding to their distain.
