Benia

Benia is a small island nation in eastern Verronia, occupying a rocky island west of Rentral-Extrova and north of Bulshka. Its population is concentrated around a single sheltered harbor, which provides refueling, repairs, weather reporting, and emergency shelter for ships travelling through the surrounding seas. Benia has little room for agriculture or heavy industry, so its economy relies on fishing, maritime services, and the storage of goods moving between the larger island states. The island's harbor and radio station were quietly contested by the major powers during the Cold War, but Benia preserved its independence by declaring permanent neutrality and renting its facilities only for civilian and humanitarian use.
